Standard 1.2 Strategic Planning
Candidates facilitate the design, development, implementation, communication, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans. (PSC 1.2/ISTE 1b)
Artifact: Action Plan
Reflection:
The purpose of the action plan was to create goals, success indicators and an evaluation plan based on the SWOT analysis performed prior. When I created the action plan for my school I looked into a timeline and ways for the school to properly budget to reach the goals. My current school does not have a technology plan, so all of the goals I set were to work towards more technology use in everyday instruction and in hopes that soon my school will have a technology plan.
Standard 1.2 states that I should be able to facilitate the design, develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate technology-infused strategic plans. Completing this artifact required me to develop goals and strategies for my school and to figure out how I would communicate the ideas to leadership in my school so that it could possibly be implemented.
Completing this assignment was important because it taught me a lot about my school. It showed me where my school stands in regards to technology and it shows me that my school has the potential to be efficient in technology. Completing this artifact showed me that my school has moe strengths than I expected and it is time for my school to move to the next level with technology integration.

Artifact: SWOT Anaylsis
Reflection:
The Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Analysis was completed to determine the current condition of technology integration in my school. In this artifact I analyzed my school’s use of technology to ISTE’s Essential Conditions. For each of the conditions I found the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The results from the artifacts could later be used to help drive a school technology plan.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of the standard because for each essential condition there are strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats given. There is also a summary and gap analysis given for each essential condition as well.
Completing the SWOT analysis taught me how to analyze my schools needs in reference to technology. It helped me learn more about the needs and wants of my staff members when it comes to technology as well. I was able to see the strengths and weaknesses of my schools staff members and of the way technology is used in the school. This analysis helped me determine the direction technology is going at Russell and the direction that Russell has the potential to go with technology. Before sharing this information with others or making decisions, I would make sure I had feedback from more staff members and I would make sure I had feedback from administration and our current part time technology specialist.
This artifact helped with school improvement because it showed the direction that the school was going in regards to technology and helped show what can be improved with technology in the school. This artifact can be assessed through surveys. These surveys can happen each nine weeks or twice a year. It should be assessed enough so that changes can be made to help with improvement and to help determine what is and is not working.
