Artifact: Shared Vision Paper
Reflection:
The shared vision paper tells the vision and mission of my current school and the role that technology plays in the school. The shared vision paper tells where I as a technology leader would like to see my school in the next three to five years. This includes implementing technology to a point where it is included in the schools mission and vision. In the shared vision paper I discussed some of the technology tools that my school is trying to implement more into classroom instruction. Some of these tools include RAZ kids and MobyMax.
The shared vision paper not only told what tools and strategies would be facilitated to improve the schools vision, but it also told how. For example in my shared vision paper, I discussed using tools to improve student achievement in content areas such as reading and math. RAZ kids is a tool that individualizes reading to meet the students needs MobyMax meets the students needs in both math and reading.
Completing this artifact helped me understand the importance of schools having a mission and vision. It also helped, me see the benefits of adding technology to the mission and vision of a school. This artifact put in prospective how large of a role technology has in our schools and how it can have a larger role. It gave me the chance to look into the role of technology in my school. If I could improve this artifact, I would add more suggestions of tools and strategies. The more I went through the Instructional Technology program, the more I learned and thought of new ways to improve technology at my school.
The work from this artifact impacted school improvement because it talked about ways to improve the schools mission and vision. It also gave ways to use technology for school improvement and student growth. The impact can be assessed by student growth in reading and math after using the different tools discussed in the shared vision paper.
